Endorsers Add to Growing Momentum Behind Hernandez for Upcoming Special Election
DUBLIN, CA — Today, BART Board President, former Dublin Mayor, and Congressional candidate Melissa Hernandez announced a slate of new Congressional endorsers from across California. This news comes on the heels of Hernandez announcing endorsements from her former opponent Rakhi Israni, every Mayor representing CA-14, all County Supervisors representing CA-14, fire unions, public safety unions, and national organizations supporting Latino candidates.
The new endorsements include:
- Chair of the CA Congressional Delegation Rep. Zoe Lofgren
- Rep. Sam Liccardo
- Rep. Julia Brownley
- Rep. Gil Cisneros
- Rep. Linda Sánchez
- Rep. Lou Correa
“I am proud to endorse Melissa Hernandez for Congress,” said Congressman Sam Liccardo. “Like me, Melissa is a former mayor, and she’ll be a pragmatic, pro-innovation leader in Congress who will focus on what matters: building more housing, cutting costs for California families, and standing up to an administration that tramples our Constitution and our communities. We need fewer ideologues in Washington and more problem-solvers. Melissa is a problem-solver.”
“Every day I talk to neighbors who want someone in Washington who will fight for them against big corporations, billionaires, and an administration that’s rigging the system and raising the cost of living. I am honored that today’s endorsers believe I am that fighter,” said Melissa Hernandez. “I look forward to working with each of these leaders in Washington to bring down the cost of living and deliver for East Bay families.”
